This week Tobiah reviews Valor, an anthology of short fiction and illustrated prose stories inspired by folk lore and fairy tales, with a focus on female heroines. The book is published by Fairylogue Press, and features content from Isabelle Melançon and Megan Lavey-Heaton, creators of the popular webcomic series Namesake.

Funded via Kickstarter in 2014, this young adult-friendly anthology features 19 comics and five illustrated prose stories from 24 creators. This anthology contain LBGTQ-friendly stories.

This week Tobiah reviews Above the Clouds, by Melissa Pagluica. This is a semi-silent webcomic about the lives of two young people living in a medieval society, as well as a story the two share about a mysterious Caretaker attempting to defeat a dragon to save the Elder Tree.

This week Tobiah takes a look at Outcasts of Jupiter #1, by Shobo and Shofela Coker. It is available for $3 from Comixology, or at cokercoop.com.

Outcasts is a science fiction book, set a thousand years in the future, at a time when Jupiter has become the hub of the solar system, leaving Earth a cultural, political, and economic backwater, and it stars a group of mercenaries—exiled from Jupiter—who have come to Earth to break one of their team out of a Moroccan prison.
