All posts for the month November, 2012

Welcome, everyone, to View from the Gutters. VftG (as I will be frequently abbreviating it) is a bi-weekly roundtable podcast. In each episode we focus on one graphic novel or collected volume of a series. We review the week???s topic work (with frequent digressions to jabber about other comics and creators, discuss the state of the industry, or just bash on Geoff Johns for a while), and then each host nominates a new comic to review for the next episode. At the end of each podcast we vote to select which nominated work we???ll be talking about next time, so you can read along with us.

Along with this introduction, we’ve released Episode 1, which includes the first set of nominations, and Episode 2 which is our first real discussion. Due to production issues the first half-dozen episodes were ??recorded a year ago and never released (until now). We resumed recording during the fall of 2012 according to our bi-weekly schedule.

We will therefore be releasing episodes on a roughly weekly basis starting today, until the backlog has been cleared.

This week on??View from the Gutters??our topic work is??Orc Stain, by James Stokoe.

In our recommendation section, our hosts nominated??Hater M: the Looking Glass Wars, Green Lantern: Secret Origin, Axe Cop, and Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is??Green Lantern: Secret Origin.

Our hosts for this episode were Matt McGinnis, Thor, Bernard Viray, and Andrew Chard

In this introduction episode, our hosts discuss the first book we’ll be reading.
