This week on View from the Gutters our topic work is Gladstone’s School for World Conquerors, by Mark Andrew Smith and Armand Villavert Jr. Set in a top secret school for young and aspiring super-villains (themselves predominantly the offspring of super-villains), the series follows the hijinks and adventures of a group of students. All is—as is so often the case—not quite as it seems, as unbeknownst to the children a secret accord keeps the peace between heroes and villains, and not everyone is happy with this status quo.
This series is fun, colorful, and great for younger readers—but contains more serious content as well. Readers familiar with animated series such as The Venture Bros. and Teen Titans will be on familiar ground.
